I'm Josh, the creator of TierCast and VP of Systems at Church Media Squad. I live on the east side of Madison, WI with my dog, splitting my time between building nerdy automations for churches and experimenting with fun tools like this one.
TierCast was born out of my obsession with clean systems, clear feedback, and helping teams, churches, and friends make better decisions together in a way that's actually fun. The idea came from a practical need: every year, our Systems Squad ranks our favorite tools, and I wanted a way to collect individual rankings and calculate a true group consensus.
After searching for an existing solution and coming up empty, I built TierCast in just a few hours. What started as a quick side project has evolved into a full-featured platform for collaborative ranking, with features added based on real-world usage and feedback.
When I'm not coding, you'll find me taking my pup to local dog parks, going for bike rides, or capturing life through photography. I believe in building things that are both functional and beautiful—TierCast reflects this philosophy. It's not just a tool, but an experience that makes group decision-making engaging and fun.
